INTRODUCTION

Since 1996 Alfea has been in contact with AFASEC (the French Vocational Training School) in order to develop a similar program in Pisa. In the other sections of this chapter you will find all the activities undertaken up to today as well as those in progress. It is important to underline that 99% of all apprentice jockeys who have successfully completed the courses are employed in the horseracing industry and that all of them mount more or less regularly during races. Alfea is also one of the founding members of EARS (European Association of Racing Schools).

THE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

All the information concerning the Vocational Training School in Pisa is published in Scuola Newsletter, which allows everybody to be informed as to how the course is proceeding, who the students and their instructors are, where the training periods will take place together with anything else important for the realization of this project.
