ITALIAN DERBY:
DE SICA TRIUMPHS UNDER THE MIL BORROMEO'S DIRECTION

Sunday the 22nd of May 2005 is now one of the most importand day for the San Rossore Training Center because DE SICA won the 122nd edition of the Group 1 ITALIAN DERBY (in blue and golden sleeves and cap on the right in the picture above). The son of Sri Pekan is daily trained by Mil Borromeo at San Rossore and he is the first Derby Winner trained here in modern times. Mil Borromeo is the De Sica's co-owner and breeder too. De Sica has the same name of an important Italian film director died in 1974. The second in the race was RAMONTI, who previously won Italian 2000 Guinneas, and he was unbeaten until the last ten yards in the Derby. Ther was an interference between De Sica an Urgente (placed fourth) but the Stewards' enquiry had not results.
De Sica was ridden by Marco Monteriso, the 2004 Italian Champion Jockey, who won Italian 1.000 Italian Guinneas a week before riding Silver Cup.

ELECTROCUTIONIST INTERNATIONAL AT YORK

Tuesday the 16th of August 2005 the Juddmont International Stakes (Group 1 over 2.100 metres) at York racecourse.

The Italian - bred ELECTROCUTIONIST won the race with a magnificent turn on foot in the last furlong. The colt by Red Ransom has beaten the Japanese Zenno Rob Roy. Maraahel was third and the favourite Ace only fourth. Electrocutionist was ridden by the Irish top jockey Mick Kinane, who was perfect on board even if all their supporters suffered a lot watching the race.
"He is a real champion - Kinane said - and he prefers 2.400 metres and a good to firm ground".

Electrocutionist is trained at San Rossore by Valfredo Valiani and is owned by the American Earle Mack.
The next races for the Italian Champion will be the Canadian International at Toronto on October 23rd.

THE NEW RECORD TOP PRICE WAS BRED AGAIN AT SAN ROSSORE
On September 23rd SGA and ANAC have organized the Italian Selected Yearlings Sales at Settimo Milanese.
For the third consecutive year, the top price is grown up and prepared for the sales by Razza Latina Stud leaded by Cristiana Brivio at San Rossore.

The Allevamento La Nuova Sbarra has payed 400.000 Euros the yearling and Mr. Frank Stronach the underbidder.
The Razza Latina Stud, known like S.A.R.L., has sold 32 yearlings over 33 presented ones, for a total amount of 2,2 milions of Euros.
The other big prices realized by Cristiana Brivio are:
